 Co-Executive Producers

After many years in the television industry, Courtney came to the web series community in 2010 to foster a career in producing. She spent a few years earning the credit on Tights and Fights, Pretty In Geek, Job Review with a Vampire, and became integrated in the Toronto Webseries Community. The connection stuck, and since then she’s worked with Out With Dad for season 3, began consulting, and was elected to the Board of Directions of the IWCC in 2014.  Ever since, Courtney has stepped up to the challenge of co-producing the festival, and proudly promotes and fosters the work of independent creators.

Working in the shadows, Nicolas has been a publicist and marketing strategist for series like Guidance, Comedy Bar, Felt Up and Video Clerk. An avid support of the arts and online content, Nicolas decided to take his years of mixed-media marketing experience and extend his expertise into the burgeoning world of online content production. Having been elected Treasurer of the IWCC-CIWC in 2014, he’s excited to help build the TO Webfest community and expand it’s impact in a growing industry.

Emilia Zboralska is a PhD Candidate in the Ryerson Communication and Culture program. She currently holds an Ontario Graduate Scholarship, and an Edward S. Rogers Sr. Graduate fellowship. Emilia is passionate about the potential of the web as a platform to tell diverse and meaningful Canadian stories to Canada and the world. She’s worn many media hats and has worked on productions for major Canadian broadcasters in various roles. Recently, she’s been very involved in the policy end of the industry and is working on projects that aim at bettering conditions for Canada’s creators through policy change and advocacy. She is committed to helping develop the web series industry in Canada in a way that fosters economic growth and sustainability, innovation, quality and diversity.

Dan Speerin is a seasoned specialist in digital strategy and communication, with experience in the development, production, distribution and promotion of content that transcends platforms. Dan is a YouTube Partner, and is the creator and producer of several successful multi platform series, including the thought ­provoking and intelligent Truth Mashup, the narrative Millennial ­focused series Twixters for Bite TV, which aired in over 60 countries, the panel discussion­ based series The What Is for TYT Network, and Truth From Here for CBC Radio. Through his exceptional communication skills, Dan has secured coverage of his various projects by major media outlets including CBC, City, The Grid/Eye Weekly Magazine, Now Magazine, The Georgia Straight Magazine, The Torontoist, Schema Magazine, and many others.

TanyaHoshiTanya Hoshi

Tanya Hoshi completed a bachelor’s degree in Cinema Studies at University of Toronto and received production training in Sheridan College’s Advanced Television and Film Program. She has made several narrative and documentary shorts that have received positive reviews in the festival circuit. She was selected to be a part of CMPA’s competitive Screen-Based Production Program in 2015. Tanya has worked for Blue Ice Pictures and Mercury Films as a Production Coordinator. Tanya is excited to work with the TO Webfest team to bring exciting content and conversations to web creators.

As Industry Programmer, Maria creates experiences to connect creators with the key funders, platforms and marketers in the industry. Working with the T.O. Webfest team, Maria is involved from planning to execution, writing pitches, creating marketing content and schedules for the events. VaniMadhaviVani Madhavi

Vani Madhavi is a film school graduate with a dual degree in Business Administration and Communications Management (M.B.A + P.G.D.M). She also possess extensive experience in brand management and public relations for SMBs, startups, and has worked in the Indian Film Industry for about 3 years prior to moving to Canada. Currently, she is the Marketing Coordinator for CaribbeanTales International Film Festival 2017. Also, she is excited to be a part of T.O.WebFest and to support content creators and digital community in as many ways as possible.

Angela GallippiAngela Gallippi

Angela Gallippi is a new devotee to the web series world and comes from a background rich in television and film programming. Her career began in film as a production coordinator with a special effects/ animation company. Angela switched to Television working for Citytv, MuchMusic, and then spending most of her television career working for Bravo! Television in the Programming and Development Department. Angela has had the pleasure of working with many talented people, and is pleased to discover a new creative path in the world of web series….the future.

Jillian Wakarchuk is a multimedia artist interested in interactive design. When she’s not at school, she can be found writing interactive fiction games, or developing other projects. Her main goal is to advocate for more inclusivity in media, and more accessible media. Jillian is also a Queen’s University graduate with a B.A. in Stage and Screen studies. She has a lot of experience in theatre design and media production. She is currently at George Brown College learning American Sign Language, and a proud member of Dames Making Games.

Guifre_9845webGuifré Bantjes-Ràfols

Guifre Bantjes-Rafols is a Toronto-based Actor and Creator with over 8 years’ experience working in theatre and, more recently, film, as both an actor and technician. He recently graduated from George Brown’s Classical Training program where, in addition to performing in multiple productions, he initiated, produced, and directed trailers for the plays in his graduating season. Since graduating, he has done the cinematography for two short films, as well as performed in, co-written and directed, a few others. He also had the honour of playing Jacob Mercer in the play Salt-Water Moon (Quarter Century Theatre), and Nelson in the feature film Sebastian (Bonpland Pictures) which screened at Inside Out Festival earlier this year. He couldn’t be more thrilled to continue his relationship with TOWebfest and the IWCC, which has been ongoing since they first connected in 2014 and will hopefully continue far into the future.

James Dallo

Graduated Seneca College with Event Production and Digital Media Arts diplomas, James has a passion for the fast paced nature of live event production and visual arts in the entertainment industry. Originally started working in the music scene developing an ear, eye and feel for the culture playing in bands, shooting club/concert/festival photos and DJ mixing. Currently working as an audio/video/lighting/stage technician and production assistant for multiple Toronto production studios/event companies. Prior joining the 2015 T.O.Webfest team, James worked with Executive Producer Courtney as part of the Fall Tour Interactive media team which helped bring all his skill sets together.

Sarah SenechalSarah Senechal

Sarah Senechal has spent her career working in the background of numerous high-profile events in Toronto. She holds an Honours degree in Theatre & Film from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Previously she has worked on numerous theatrical productions, Awards presentations, and live events. Sarah has been employed by The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television as a Box Office Coordinator for the Genie and Gemini Awards. She has only recently been exposed to the burgeoning world of web series development, but she is excited to witness the evolution of this industry as part of the IWCC-CIWC and TO Webfest team!

Mariah OwenMariah Owen

Mariah Owen is an award winning actor, producer, writer, director and social media fanatic who founded GTE Productions, a production company dedicated to scripted content for Film, TV and Digital Media. Prior to starting GTE, she worked for various politicians, actors, films, web, charity, sports teams, corporate organizations and events creating strategies, marketing plans and content for their social platforms. Mariah is thrilled to be a part of the T.O. Webfest team. She can be found online @mariahowen.

Colette VosbergColette Vosberg

Colette Johnson-Vosberg is a TV & Film professional that specializes in business affairs with a creative flair.  Colette has written, directed and produced two shorts, one drama entitled “Gotta Get Ahead” and the other a documentary, entitled “The Hootenanny”, as well as worked on CFC shorts and MOW’s for Showtime, such as “What Girls Learn” with Elizabeth Perkins and Scott Bakula. Colette has a unique background of having been in the fields of broadcasting, distribution and a funding agency that has established well-rounded expertise in the TV & Film industry as a whole. Currently, Colette is providing services to clients in the role of producing, writing private and government funding applications, tax credit applications, contracting and connecting people to people.


Web Developer

Femi is a versatile computer scientist who loves to explore the world of storytelling using latest technologies. He has been involved in creating illustrative videos and live presentations which is the drive that makes him a part of the T.O. Webfest team.  After featuring at various events in audio and video industry, he is keen to use this experience in the creation of web series.  Based on his much interest in living in a vast diverse community, he recently moved from Kelowna to Toronto to study interactive media management which he intends to use to add more skills to his user experience arsenal. Femi is one who wears many hats, and you can find him networking in the office in early mornings, and mixing music at the festivals and clubs at night.
